Eligibility

For both State and National level competitions, all contestants must be female and must participate in the appropriate division according to their age on January 1, 2020 unless otherwise noted below. Contestants/Parents understand that documentation may be requested for any claims made in performance of the pageant. Any request for clarification or variance on these requirements must be submitted to the National Director and the decision of the National Director will be final.

State level competitions

Age Divisions

Our state pageants feature six age divisions: Princess (3-6), Sweetheart (7-9), Preteen (10-12), Junior Teen (13-15),

Teen (16-18), and Coed (19-24) with ages determined as of January 1st of competition year. 

Phases of Competition

State level pageants offer contestants the opportunity to compete in three overall phases of competition for a chance to represent their state at our National Finals in Orlando, Florida. These phases are:

Personal Interview - Contestants will be able to have a conversation with each of our judges one by one

Interview Appearance & Introduction - Contestants will model their interview outfit and give a 30 second speech

Eveningwear - Contestants will show their confidence and poise as they are  featured in the gown of their choice 

Scoring & Judging

All events are equally weighted. Judges will score independently and will not form any decisions based on consensus. Final results are determined by the total of all scores, no final ranking will be performed. Contestants will not be permitted to discuss the results with the judges but will have the opportunity to request their scores and comments from the national office.

National level competitions

Age Divisions

Our National Pageant has events for 9 age divisions: Princess (3-6), Sweetheart (7-9), Preteen (10-12), Junior Teen (13-15),

Teen (16-18), Coed (19-24), Ms. (25-34), Woman (35-44), and Classic Woman (45 and up) with ages determined as of January 1st of competition year. Contestants under the age of 25 that have children, are married, or divorced will be eligible to compete in the Ms. Division.

Phases of Competition

During our National Pageant contestants will compete in the following three preliminary phases of competition:

Personal Interview - Contestants will be able to have a conversation with each of our judges one by one

Eveningwear - Contestants will show their confidence and poise as they are  featured in the gown of their choice 

The total of the scores in these three events will form the Preliminary Score and determine our Top Finalists. During the final pageant our Top Finalists will compete one last time in both Eveningwear and Introduction and be given a Final Pageant score. The Final Pageant and Preliminary Scores are added together to determine our Winner and court. 

National Queens Competition

Our National Queens competition is our main event open to the following contestants:

  • Winners of our State Pageants

  • Queens Appointed for states where no pageant was held

  • Queens Appointed for divisions that are not offered at the State Level

  • Queens Appointed by the National Office

  • Former State Queens who have not yet moved up to the next age division

  • Runners up from our State Pageants

Our National Queen titles are:

  • Miss American Princess (ages 3-6)

  • Miss American Sweetheart (ages 7-9)

  • Miss American Preteen (ages 10-12)

  • Miss American Junior Teen (ages 13-15) 

  • Miss American Teen (ages 16-18)

  • Miss American Coed (ages 19-24)

  • Ms. American Coed (ages 25-34)

  • Ms. American Woman (ages 35-44)

  • Ms. American Classic Woman (45 and up)

National Victory Competition

Our National Victory competition is our sister program open to the following contestants:

  • Contestants from our State Pageants

  • Runners up from our State Pageants

  • Contestants Appointed in states where no pageant was held

  • Contestants Appointed for Ms. Division not offered at the State Level

  • Contestants Appointed by the National Office

  • Former State Queens who have not yet moved up to the next age division

Our National Victory titles are:

  • Miss American Victory Princess (ages 3-6)

  • Miss American Victory Sweetheart (ages 7-9)

  • Miss American Victory Preteen (ages 10-12)

  • Miss American Victory Junior Teen (ages 13-15) 

  • Miss American Victory Teen (ages 16-18)

  • Miss American Victory Coed (ages 19-24)

  • Ms. American Victory (ages 25 and up)

State Pageant Entry Fee - $250 

National Pageant Entry Fee - $550 

National Pageant Ad Fee - $300 

National optional entry - $150

National Victory Fee - $450

National Ms. Divisions Fee - $650

Winners of our State Pageants will receive their National Entry Fee paid. Additional fees such as production outfits, pageant tickets, and meal functions vary each year and will be reviewed in your Newsletters.
